Many Mower Birthday's

I am back once again with ANOTHER masculine birthday card. Boy my name must be butter cause I am on a ROLL. I know, I know I am soooo not funny but at least I try. This card makes masculine card number three for this month.

I mentioned in Friday's post that I had recently got a new set of stamps that came with a magazine. While I was making Friday's card and looking over the images in the stamp set, I got inspired to make this card. I knew that the mower image would pair perfectly with the grass border punch that I have from Fiskars, and it does. I adhered the grass to the stamped panel and then popped the entire thing up with foam tape so that the grass border would really stand out.

I am really liking this stamp set, and the magazine has some great inspiration for ways to use the stamps as well.

Smokin' Birthday

It is Friday once again....my favorite day of the week! Tomorrow morning we are once again headed out of town to get away and do some SHOPPING. Hopefully I will get to buy some new Fall outfits, since my closet is severely lacking in that department.

I don't remember if I mentioned it in last week's post or not but we went out of town last weekend as well to celebrate my birthday (which was the weekend before). We did a little bit of shopping then, too. One of the stores that I went into was a Books-A-Million. We don't have one where I live, and I found a crafty magazine that was speaking to me, Creative Stamping magazine (from the UK) issue 46.  I have included a picture of the stamp set that was included.

Since today is another family birthday I thought I would go ahead and bust out these new stamps, after-all they were already on my desk and they have several images that just scream 'masculine birthday card'!

A Beary Sweet Birthday

Hello again! Yesterday's solar eclipse was AWESOME!! I hope that those of you who were able to see it checked it out. Based on where I live we were able to view about 94% coverage. I purchased a pair of the solar glasses from Walmart and they came with a really cool booklet that talks about past eclipses, what to expect from it and some other interesting facts. It was just a pretty awesome thing to experience and it makes me in awe of God's beautiful work.

For today's project I want to share a card with you that I made awhile ago for my cousin's, daughter's birthday. This adorable bear with ice cream cone image came from a free cut file that I found a couple of years ago from Treasure Box Designs. It cuts out and layers beautifully. I also made sure to add plenty of rhinestones because what little girl doesn't like a bit of sparkle on her birthday.

For the inside of the card I decided to experiment with the feature on the Cricut software which draws text with markers. For a first attempt I would say it turned out 'beary' good.

Wedding Thank You Cards

Several months ago I mentioned that I was hired to make a wedding album by my friend's mom. ( Well, at the time that she placed the order for the album she also asked me to provide a couple of thank you card samples for her to show the bride. In order to keep the costs down I used some of the extra supplies from the making of the album to come up with these cute and simple cards. I still have more if any of you are interested in buying any. You can email at thesweetscrapper@gmail.com if you would like to order any.

Fashionable Girlfriend

Is there anything better than CAKE? In case you didn't know (or didn't remember- don't worry you weren't the only one) my birthday was on Sunday and that means an excuse to eat CAKE!! You know that stupid question where people ask 'if you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three foods what would they be?' At least two of my answers would be CAKE.

Okay, enough cake talk, it's making me HUNGRY. Let's get on with today's plethora of cards, but first a little background info. A couple of months ago when I started cleaning up my craft room (it still isn't even close to being finished or even orderly) I found a lot of projects that I had started and sat aside to finish later, as well as some card kits that had been given to me. So what do I do when I find said stash of goodies, why stick them aside to revisit later and to not be discovered again for several months.

Anyway, today I thought that I would take one of the kits and mix it with some other supplies in my stash and see what came of it. The color combinations are fun and vibrant and the chipboard pieces and rub-on sentiments paired perfectly with a stamp set I have from Fiskars called 'Girls Night'.

I don't know what company made this kit because by the time I went to use it the packaging was long gone. So, if any of you recognize it please let me know so that I can give credit to the company and avoid any nasty copyright stuff.

I hope you guys have a great rest of the week, I will see you on Friday and don't forget to eat some CAKE.

Motorcycle Birthday

I mentioned in last weeks post about a website called Aliexpress that I have completely fallen in love with for buying dies and stamps. Well, today's card features another die that I purchased from there.

While browsing the thousands of dies on the website about a month ago, I came across this really cool motorcycle and knew that it would be perfect for making masculine cards. And for my uncle's birthday which was yesterday. So, I knew that I would be needing a card.

As each day has passed since I placed the order, I hoped that it would arrive in time. Alas, as if the postal service knew, the die arrived in my mailbox yesterday morning, just in time for me to complete this card before my uncles surprise party on Sunday.

Oops don't tell anyone, I'm pretty sure that he doesn't read my blog but in the off chance that he does, sorry that I ruined the surprise.

*Sorry the picture isn't the best- I forgot to take a picture before giving it to my uncle, so I had to quickly sneak a photo at the last minute.

EDIT: He was totally surprised and he loved the card.

Patriotic Door Wreath

Howdy peeps. I wanted to share a project that I made in June and planned to post last month, but due to some personal grief (I shared more about it in last Monday's post if you want to know more) wasn't able to. So, I felt that today would be a good time to share it with you.

Back in late May or early June I was shopping with my mom and my aunt at Tuesday Morning. While there, my aunt saw a door wreath that she really liked. It was shaped like a heart and had wooden flowers in red, white and blue laid out in the shape of an American flag. She really wanted it, the only problem was the it was too expensive for her budget. She called me over to show me the wreath and then she challenged me to make her one similar out of cardstock.

My wreath turned out slightly different than the one that we saw in the store that day but my aunt, my mom and I all agree that we like mine better. (Sometimes you have to brag on yourself a little.) By the way, mine was cheaper, in cost, as well so DOUBLE BONUS!!

Now, we all know that I couldn't possibly just make one wreath...so I made one for myself as well. TRIPLE BONUS!!!

Layered Butterfly Birthday

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a good week. A month or two ago I was on YouTube and the person I was watching mentioned a website where you could order cheaper crafting items like dies and stamps. After finishing the video I immediately went online to check it out and I fell in LOVE! The website is called Aliexpress.com and they have a TON of items of all kinds, not just craft related. So far, I have only looked at and bought stamps and dies. The products all come from China so they can take some time to arrive. The quickest I have received something was about 10 days and the longest was maybe a month, but so far I have only placed one order (although it was rather large) but each item was sent separately because they come from different sellers within one website. You can be sure that I am going to be placing another one as soon as I can.

Some of their stuff is knockoffs of big name stamp and die companies but at a fraction of the price, which is AWESOME for my pocketbook!!

Today I realized that I needed to make a birthday card for a party that I am going to this weekend but I didn't have a lot of time to work on a card. But, sitting on my desk was a package from Aliexpress containing a butterfly die that I had ordered and been to lazy to put away yet. Sometimes procrastination works in my favor and helps to provide that much needed inspiration
.
I decided to cut the butterfly out of three different shades of cardstock (for an ombre look) and then layer them together in the center so that the wings stand up for appeal and dimension. I love the beautiful lacy wings of this butterfly and the die cut like butter.

News + Butterfly Sympathy

Hey guys. Some of you may have noticed that I took the entire month of July off from blogging. I mentioned in a post in June that my best friend's husband was in the hospital in ICU and it was a trying time on all of us. My friend ended up staying at my house for several weeks while her husband was in the hospital because I live closer, and she wanted to be able to visit him everyday.

Her husband unfortunately passed away in July so it has been a very emotional time for us all. So, the card that I have for you today is a sympathy card in honor of Ryan. It is never easy saying goodbye to someone that we care about. I want to say a big thank you to all of you who prayed for both Heather and Ryan.
