World Cardmaking Day 2018 (Bonus Post)

Hey guys and gals! Yesterday was a fun day in the papercrafting world, it was World Cardmaking Day. Don't worry if you have never heard of it, I only discovered it a couple of months ago. I decided to go online and see what could be found about this obscure holiday and I discovered that it was created by Paper Craft Magazine in 2006 and is held annually on the first Saturday in October.

In order to celebrate, I decided to finish a large group of cards that I had started working on awhile back but never got around to finishing. I had previously cut an entire 8.5 x 11 patterned paper pad into 4.25 x 5.5 inch rectangles in order to be used on cards.

I spent the entire day cutting, gluing (with double sided tape), stamping and sorting so that I could finish off this large batch of cards. I even got to use up some of my ENDLESS supply of Project Life cards (I swear that those cards have a way of multiplying when I am not looking). In the end I had about 150 finished cards (I made 4-6 of each card design).

Because I made so many cards of different types (birthday, friendship, encouragement, etc.), I decided to also make some boxes so that I could sell the cards in sets. I put eight different cards into each box so that each box would contain a variety of different occasions.

Wow, it was a LONG day of crafting. I didn't finish until around 3 o'clock this morning, my back is KILLING me but at least I got a lot accomplished!

Let me know if you are interested in purchasing one (or more) of these fun boxed sets. Email me at thesweetscrapper@gmail.com

Friendly Butterfly

Today I am back with another relatively simple card where I let the products do the hard work for me. A while back I bought this cool stamp and embossing folder combo, mainly because I had never seen it before and I absolutely LOVE it. The stamp is really pretty when stamped alone but combined with the embossing folder it makes for a spectacular card with lots of dimension.

Since I love butterflies and have about 12 different butterfly stamp sets I decided to include one of my favorite butterflies stamped on the inside along with a sweet sentiment to bring this whole card together.

Fashionable Girlfriend

Is there anything better than CAKE? In case you didn't know (or didn't remember- don't worry you weren't the only one) my birthday was on Sunday and that means an excuse to eat CAKE!! You know that stupid question where people ask 'if you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three foods what would they be?' At least two of my answers would be CAKE.

Okay, enough cake talk, it's making me HUNGRY. Let's get on with today's plethora of cards, but first a little background info. A couple of months ago when I started cleaning up my craft room (it still isn't even close to being finished or even orderly) I found a lot of projects that I had started and sat aside to finish later, as well as some card kits that had been given to me. So what do I do when I find said stash of goodies, why stick them aside to revisit later and to not be discovered again for several months.

Anyway, today I thought that I would take one of the kits and mix it with some other supplies in my stash and see what came of it. The color combinations are fun and vibrant and the chipboard pieces and rub-on sentiments paired perfectly with a stamp set I have from Fiskars called 'Girls Night'.

I don't know what company made this kit because by the time I went to use it the packaging was long gone. So, if any of you recognize it please let me know so that I can give credit to the company and avoid any nasty copyright stuff.

I hope you guys have a great rest of the week, I will see you on Friday and don't forget to eat some CAKE.

Sea You Soon

Happy Friday everybody, It is officially the end of June and summer is in full swing.

Today's blog post is going to be really short because I have had a lot going on but I wanted to share the second card that I made for one of the ladies that worked with my mom that left her job. If you haven't already read Tuesday's post, you might want to check it out for more information.

The only information that I was given on the woman leaving was that she plans to take a couple of weeks of vacation to visit family before coming back to start a new job and a new phase of her life. She really likes Sea Turtles. She and my mom already made a plan to meet up for lunch when she gets back from her trips.

This is the card that I came up with and I hope she likes the turtle:

Same Design, Different Sentiment

Hey everyone, I hope that you all had a great Mother's Days! Mine was wonderful, I got to spend it with my amazing mom and aunt. We had lunch together and then did some shopping and topped it off with a trip to get some delicious ice cream. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing mom!
Today, I thought that I would share with you some cards that I made using the same design. But, by changing the focal image or sentiment each card turned out looking slightly different. There were a couple of things that inspired me to do this set of cards. The first, I found a great sketch (from cardztv.blogspot.com) that would make it easier to make multiple cards at the same time. The second reason, is that I have way too much patterned paper!

Anyway enough with the talk let’s get to the pictures:
